was sharing the Shack during last friday at CG.
It is about a story of a man who daughter died under a tragic circumstance and how his world is changed forever during his greatest moment of sadness when God invited him back to the Shack.
The Shack "is a metaphor for the places you get hurt, you get stuck"
It is a cross between fiction & theology
I was stuck for sometimes, when the portray of God the Father is not what I have expected. Then I realized I had a mental image of God.
Which I shouldn’t as the 2nd Commandment: You shall not make for yourself an idol
Exodus 20:4
"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
You will enjoy the book even as a novel, but it will make you think about the nature and character of God even more.
Where tragedy meets eternity
